OK, I'm in real trouble now, because I discovered Morpheus today. I had been looking for a Napster replacement, and Nutella just wasn't cutting it. Morpheus is awesome. Which reminds me, I updated the Windows Media player (to 7.01) recently, because, I don't know, I was messing around and a pop up or something told me to go get it. Being a guy who likes to stay current, I went ahead and did it. But has anyone else noticed that the sound quality on WMP sucks? I mean, it's really, really bad. I also use WinAmp 2.75 that's OK. But the Microsoft stuff distorts like hell, and the graphic eq is really bad. Bad, bad, bad. Since I use my computer for music a lot, this disturbs me. No matter. GET MORPHEUS, it rocks.

A reviewed on Amazon.com had this to say about the classic Miles Davis album, Bitches Brew:

Despite the complexity and the multi-colored arrangements and expanded song lengths, this is still something you can feel comfortable tossing on during your next cocktail party (wouldn't hurt your hipness factor, none, neither).

So I don't know who this guy invites to cocktail parties, but trust me on this: DO NOT PLAY Bitches Brew during ANY kind of party. The only exception I can think of here is if you are throwing a Miles Davis appreciation party, in which case it's fine.

I would suggest that playing this album during a party will have the reverse effect of turning on the TV. TV tends to kill a party by drawing people in. Bitches Brew will kill a party by driving people away. TV sucks in your bad guests. Bitches Brew drives away your good guests.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the album, but it will really, really twist your head around bad. It is not for the casual listener, and especially not for the party-goer.

If you don't believe me go to Amazon and click on song sample for Disc 1: Song 2. Bitches Brew.
