Dave very tired. Dave working a lot. However, Dave has this significant update on Katherine Louise. She is officially crawling. She's still thinking about it a lot, and she flattens out a bit, but when she's motiviated, she gets where she needs to go. A most wonderful, and disturbing development. As I sit here, it's officially Tuesday, so she's seven months old today. She took her first crawl on Sunday, and accellerated today. I watched her twice zoom across the floor in search of something fun and interesting. She covered four or five feet both times. She still doesn't always realize that she can do it, but once she sets her mind to it, she's off. Of course, she never goes after her toys. No ho ho. Those are boring and stagnant. She goes after Kara's shoes, power cords, and generally everything you don't want her messing around with. Today, I saw her in the kitchen scurry over to the cabinet under the sink, and put her hand on the knob. Time to protect that draino, I guess.

There are other significant developments too. Today, twice, when Kara was watching, she pulled herself up to a stand using her play table. Yikes. She continues to get more comfortable on her feet, and her balance is developing. She doesn't fall over like a log anymore. She instinctively bends her knees when she gets into balance trouble, and plops down on her bee-hind.

She's also developed this really cute behaviour in the crib. In the morning, when she's ready to wake up, or after a nap, she'll wake up, but be fairly silent. Then, eventually, she'll start to make noise. By the time we get in, she's sitting up, facing the door with her hands on the crib rails, looking at us, like, "HELLO. Can we get started now?" It is absolutely adorable.
