Happy (Sad) cats
I have recovered both cats. Actually, Kara got Piggie. He's not the brightest of cats, and when she got home and found them gone, she found him lurking around the driveway crying because he was too freaked out to take advantage of his newfound freedom. Both cats turn out to be like this. They'll try like hell to get out, but once they do they get so confused and scared that they choke.
So I went out, and soon found Maggie cowering in the bushes, also pretty freaked out and afraid. I couldn't lure her out with food or play toys, so I had to prod at her until she broke free and ran across the lawn. Luckily, she ran out to the front, and saw Piggie staring out the window by the front door, and so went over and stared longingly in the house. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, so to speak. Anyway, I ran around trying to get food and stuff to tempt her to get close enough to catch, but Kara just opened up the front door and she trotted in. So a scary moment is over, and both cats seem fine. Their latest experiment in freedom will probably not lead to any better future behaviour, but at least they are back in their cozy home with treats.
As to the heating guys, we're about ready to cut them loose. And to make it all worse, I just heard the water heater fire up, and there was a big groan that wasn't there yesterday. My god, it just sucks sometimes to be a homeowner. On top of that, I have my mortgage company sending my nasty letters telling me that I hadn't paid the company they bought my loan from when I'm staring at the cancelled checks. So I call 'em up, and they say, 'duh, you probably have to call the other company about that'.
"Then why did you send me a letter telling me to call you" I ask
"Duh, I don't know" They say
"Can I talk to the person who signed the letter?" I ask
"Duh, no. This is the incoming call center. She works somewhere else" they say
"Well what do you suggest I do?" I ask
"Duh, Call the other company", they say
"But you sent me the letter telling me to call you" I say
"Duh, well, can you fax us a copy of the letter we sent you" They ask?
Just shoot me now.
