A tough week

It's been a tough week for the Owczarek family. A few days ago, Katherine did a major face-plant, and cut her lip. It was her first really big fall. She was kneeling on the floor, and sort of jumped forward, but her hands didn't make it down in time. Kara tells me she screamed like nobody's business, and although Kara couldn't see any blood, when she stuck a finger in Katherine's mouth, it came out red. Yikes. Then the nose started. She was already having a grumpy day, but that put her over the edge for the rest of the day. The next day was pretty fussy too, but it turns out the reason for all that grumping is that she seems to be sick. Yes, it looks like little Katherine has her first big cold. We're pretty lucky, really, since she has only been sick twice so far, and both of those were extremely mild. But this looks like the real deal. She's running a temperature, and is very clingy, which is unusual. Coupled with me being out of town for a day, and the weather being generally rainy, it's shaping up for a typical post-Fall sort of run.
